Education objectives

The aim of this master's degree is to develop and reinforce knowledge in the scientific, technological, social and human dimensions, leading to the specialization in one of the different areas of intervention within Cardiopneumology. Among these, besides the traditional areas, it is offered an increasing growing and demanding area of interest, the Post Market Surveillance. It is intended to train specialists with a solid theoretical knowledge with a strong experience in a real context. Therefore, this master's degree is based on an innovative training program that consists on a solid component of an individual development of skills in clinical context. The training in the specialization area is complemented by a clinical internship or by a research project. The offer of a wide set of specializations allows to meet the needs of the labour market and students expectations of training.

 

Intended learning outcomes:

In-depth knowledge of the physiological and pathophysiological principles adjacent to the area of specialization;

Comprehend the technology and adequate tools to the processes of the clinical practice in the specialization area, including the analysis of the results obtained after the procedures;

Ability to select and analyze the scientific evidence and apply it to the practice in the appropriate situation;

Capacity of scientific research, including the control of its ethic principles;

Capacity of analysis, summarization, and critics, active participation, initiative, communication and adaptation to new situations and integration in multidisciplinary teams;

Comprehend the innovative and entrepreneurship processes;

Capacity to integrate knowledge previously described, to be able to deal with complex questions and develop the appropriate solutions, including reasonings about the implications and ethical and social responsibilities that result or influence those solutions and judgments.
