Education objectives
In strategic and scientific terms, students should be capable of identifying the current major strategic technologic and scientific research fields, as well as high impact socioeconomic topics, within the scope of aging and chronic diseases. In technical and methodological terms, students should acquire competences that will allow them to choose and integrate the tools and experimental approaches that best respond to the scientific questions raised, in an adequate, coherent and critical manner. Therefore, students should be able to identify a pertinent and relevant scientific question, and plan an integrated and multidisciplinary scientific research project that is competitive according to the most demanding scientific quality standards. In the course of their doctoral thesis work, students should be capable of developing, in an autonomous and independent manner, a set of research techniques that allow them to test, in an adequate, clear and objective manner, their hypotheses.
Degree pre-requisites
Approval in 240 ECTS (60 ECTS in the Curricular Units and 180 ECTS in the Dissertation/Thesis)
