Objectives
In recent years, several diseases were linked to defects in trafficking of cargo between membrane-bound compartments, underscoring the importance of membrane traffic for the correct function of cells and tissues. Hence, the study of the molecular mechanisms involved provides an opportunity to better understand the etiology of these diseases and to discover novel therapeutic approaches. This course will highlight recent advances in the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms of chronic diseases. The students will also learn about state-of-the-art microscopy techniques, as well as cellular and animal models used to study these diseases.
