Objectives
Designed for future experimental animals users this module aims to teach the practical basic training for the use of animals in accordance with the European animal welfare recommendations. Includes the practical training required by law (Decree-Law 113/2013) for creditation to perform the functions (a) carrying out procedures on animals; (b) designing procedures and projects; (c) taking care of animals; or (d) killing animals. This module complements the specific theoretical training required for each function, enabling the participants use animals in research only after obtaining accreditation from the Portuguese competent Authority Direcção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária.
