Objectives
Leading medical research careers rely not only in solid scientific training but also on a range of transversal skills that allow the researchers to build competitive scientific publications track records, raise the impact of their research, develop successful research funding strategies and establish multidisciplinary collaborative networks with peers and other relevant stakeholders. This curricular unit aims at promoting in-depth transversal skills for medical researchers in the fields of science communication and management, in particular to empower them to:
Learn and integrate into practice key issues in research planning and management, focusing particularly on PhD project management
Learn theoretical basis of communication and its practical application in life sciences research
Develop functional understanding about the peer review of scientific publications
Train the classical formats of communication among researchers
Develop scientific writing skills in English
Understand and contextualize key aspects of communication between researchers and other social or professional groups
Learn the national and international contexts of research funding, including specific tools and strategies
Understand and develop key aspects of collaborative networking for scientific, multidisciplinary research
Develop a strategic approach to career development
