Objectives

1.    Understanding the components of Public Mental Health and the types of interventions addressing:

·      The general population

·      The vulnerable groups

·      At risk populations

·      Individuals

 

2.    Understanding the concepts of stigma and discrimination

 

3.    Understanding the concept of Disability Adjusted Life Years and Years Lived with Disability. Learning about epidemiological data attributable to mental, neurological, and substance use disorders on the global burden of diseases. Learning about global mortality and disability data associated with mental, neurological and substance use.

 

4.    Understanding the concept of GAP and the different types of gaps related to services provided for mental disorders care: resources, infrastructure, funding, access, quality of care.

 

5.    Understanding the main barriers preventing the implementation of cost effective and human interventions.
