Objectives
Thematic Unit 1 - Contributions of psychiatric epidemiology to policy and services development
1. Learning the epidemiological data on mental disorders in the general population
2. Learning the epidemiological data on mental disorders in primary care
3. Understanding the concept of needs for care and learning how they can be assessed
4. Understanding the contribution of studies on the use, effectiveness and costs of mental health services and interventions to policy development.
Thematic Unit 2 - Social determinants
1. Understanding the role and the nature of social determinants having an impact on mental ill-health.
2. Understanding the complex links between mental health problems as risk factors of poor socio economic conditions and poor socio economic conditions as risk factors for mental health problems.
