Objectives
a) Acquire ability to read and watch the news items in a reflexive and critical way;
b) To understand the several constraints of the journalistic field;
c) To reflect about the journalist and the journalistic fields role in a democratic society, having in mind the implicit definitions of the democratic theory.

Teaching method
Presentation of the syllabus, texts discussion, debate around specific cases of current journalism, and the screening of movies about journalism. Theoretical classes 70%. Pratical classes 30%.
