i) Understand the national territory, its population and activities
ii) Analyze the territory integrating the geographical and social contexts
iii) Understand the diversity of territorial development processes in Portugal
iv) Identify and analyze the main structural factors of the Portuguese territory
v) Interpret landscapes
vi) Develop the ability to investigate and present geographic information at different scales
vii) Communicate the results of the conducted research through written and oral communication
viii) Critically evaluate the role of the main actors and the factors responsible for the organization of the national territory

Teaching method
Half the lectures are theoretical. In the practical classes, the students develop a project in groups of three (max.) and present it to their classmates.
Evaluation method
a) Written test (60% of the final grade)
b) Article review (5% of the final grade)
c) Project in groups up to three students (25%) and presentation (5% of the final grade)
d) Participation and attendance (60% minimum of attendance) (5% of the final grade)
