Objectives
a) To know the main concepts, approaches and methods of Geopolitics
b) To understand the relationship between territory and politics at various scales from the local to global;
c) To apprehend the meaning of geographical representations for the understanding of political issues;
d) To comment texts on political issues from the perspective of the discipline;
e) To identify geographical representations in the political discourse of different actors at various geographical scales;
f) To apply the acquired knowledge in the performance of professional activities, e.g., contact with central an local power as well as with other stakeholders at the local and regional levels.

Teaching method
Theoretical and practical classes. The students have several opportunities to participate in the discussions during classes.
Evaluation method
- Reading of selected references the interpretation and comprehension of these selected references will be tested on a writing exam (70%);
- Group work the students will have the opportunity to analyse different perspectives, concepts and theories on the subject of political geography (30%).
