Objectives

a) Acquire knowledge about the different types of geomorphologic processes in the tropical regions, as well as their characteristics and actuation intensities;
b) Understand the dynamics and importance of the vegetation on the functioning of geomorphologic processes;
c) Understand the genesis of extreme natural events and their consequences in the tropics;
d) Evaluate the impact of human activities on the dynamics of tropical ecosystems;
e) Apply methodologies and specific knowledge on the analysis of the major landform units.

3. Weathering and erosion in the humid and dry tropics
4. Slope dynamics in tropical regions
5. River systems in the tropics
6. Genesis of diverse landscape types
7. Human modifications on forms and processes
8. Environmental problems resulting from urbanization.
