Objectives
a)To transmit a set of information related to the territorial development.
b)To discuss policies of innovation and territorial development at different geographical scales.
c)To analyse different experiences of regional and local development in Europe and Portugal.
d)To evaluate the role played by the geographical concentration and nets for the economic growth and development.
e)To apply the knowledge acquired in the conception of a project concerning the development at a local and regional scale.

Teaching method
-Reading a set of selected texts for which content the students will be evaluated in a written examination.
-Participation in a project concept, in which the theoretical contents learnt during the course will be applied.
Evaluation method
-Written test about a set of selected texts (60%);
-Participation in a project concept about development problems (30%) and oral presentation (10%).
