Objectives

a)To be able to relate different special and temporal features of the History of medieval Portugal, XIIIth-XVth centuries
b)To be able to identify the fundamental political, economical, social and cultural processes which occur in Portugal in the
XIIIth, XIVth and XVth centuries
c)To know the main historiographycal interpretations of the studied subjects
d)To know the fundamental bibliography on the subjects and to be able to work with historical documents of the age
e)To develop oral and written communication ability, by using specialized vocabulary and conceptual categories of the
Middle Age
f)To acquire the necessary knowledge to be able to proceed to more profound and complex research on the Middle Age

Teaching method

60% of theoretical classes (oral explanation of the syllabus) and 40% of practical classes (analysis of historiographical texts and historical documents with the participation of the students).

Evaluation method

Two written tests in classroom (50% each one, for the final evaluation) and the oral participation of the students.
