Objectives

a) To analyse the impacts caused by the unequal distribution of resources;
b) To recognize the importance and the historical significance of cultural regions;
c) To evaluate the complexity behind the Power-Territory relationships;
d) To analyse the emergence of new cultural geographies;
e) To discuss the economic, social, cultural and political problems that persist at the beginning of the 21st century.

Teaching method

The teaching methods are based on theoretical lectures and practical classes much focused on concepts and case-study analysis. It is expected that the students actively participate, by expressing their views over the different subjects that are at stake.

Assessment:
1. Written test;
2. Essay – case-study analysis by groups of three or four students.
