Objectives
Through Contemporary History and Culture, works the aspects of the History of Mentalities referring to this century, permeated by two world wars, and hence resulted Orpheu, the Salazarism and the 25th of April .

Urban / rural; the house, the family and family relationship; food; being a child and being a woman, the medicine and the body. The cultural power and the political power. \"Orpheu,\" the magazine of the twentieth century. \"Pessoa\", the Poet.

Teaching method
The teaching method is mainly reflexive and oriented to the contents of the curricular unit. Students will present and discuss key texts and documents (lectures (60%); class discussions and analysis of oral and written texts, presentation and discussion of student papers (40%).
Evaluation method
1.A final test or exam on all the studied contents
2. A ten-page paperwork with bibliographic research
3. Individual presentation of short commentaries
