Objectives
a) To improve knowledge of the specific problems faced when translating texts in the area of literature.
b) To develop translation skills in the above-mentioned area.
c) To be able to critically evaluate different kinds of translations.
d) To develop critical knowledge of the practice of translation in the field of literature.
e) To be able to recognize and use translation resources for this specific field.

Not applicable.
Subject matter
1. Translation and version.
2. Literary genres and translation.
3. Theatre translation.
4. Analysis of translations and translators´ options.
5. Translation of texts written by Alejo Carpentier, Berta Marsé, Care Santos, Gabriel García Márquez, Juan Carlos Onetti, Julio Cortázar and others.

Teaching method
Practical and theoretical classes, using different types of literary texts, with a strong interactive component on the part of the students.
The practical component includes oral contributions by the students.
Evaluation method
Class and out of class student work (1/3), two practical tests (1/3) and a practical and theoretical final test (1/3).
