Objectives
a) To improve knowledge of the specific problems faced when translating texts in the technical-scientific field.
b) To develop translation skills in the above-mentioned area.
c) To be able to critically evaluate different kinds of translations.
d) To develop critical knowledge of translation practice in Science and Technology.
e) To be able to recognize and use translation resources for this specific field.
Prerequisites
Spanish ability equivalent to level A2.2.
Subject matter
1. Difficulties and solutions in the translation process.
2. Neologisms.
3. Translation for the press and audiovisual translation.
4. Interculturality.
5. Translation practice in Science and Technology: epistemology and research; treaties and agreements; economy; health; innovation and user manuals; natural resources and environment; human groups.

Teaching method
Practical and theoretical classes, using texts from various fields of Science and Technology, with a strong interactive component on the part of the students. The practical component includes oral contributions by the students.
Evaluation method
Class and out of class student work (1/3), two practical tests (1/3) and a practical and theoretical final test (1/3).
