Objectives

To relate the trends of concepts, genres and categories of the visual arts practices.
To recognize and to understand the visual arts exhibition conditions, namely the curatorial practices and exhibition models.
Prerequisites
Subject matter
One of the most evident aspects of contemporary visual arts is its polymorph, plural and excessive character. To a certain point, all these possibilities are expressions intrinsic to an actuality that founds part of its dynamics from the confusion and dilution of specificities. In this sense, this program aims to analyze characteristics, derivations and combinations within the domain of the theory and practice of artistic imagery, by focusing recent trends on the conceptual, aesthetical and technical levels.
A first group of contents pays attention to certain inclinations and themes actualizations (e.g., time and movement, archive and memory, quotidian, spatiality and place), as well a critical perspective on the artistic categories and genres. Finally, several questions on the curatorial exercise will me examined, as well the modes and devices of presentation/exhibition visual works.
