Objectives
1. To be able to search for, select and critically analyse the literature in the area.
2. To apply knowledge of the scientific research methodology when analysing the scientific literature in the area.
3. To identify and formulate original problems within the thematic areas of the Psychology of Music and Musical Pedagogy.
4. To be able to write a scientific article.

None.
Subject matter
A) Historical elements, defining the fields of work and identifying research questions in the subject areas of the Psychology of Music and Musical Pedagogy.
B) Questioning, observing and evaluating musical behaviour. A introducion to quantitative and qualitative study methods.
C) A critical analysis of various contributions in the areas of the Psychology of Music and Musical Pedagogy:
- The work of Edwin Gordon as an example of diagnosis and measurement studies in the Psychology of Music with repercussions for Musical Pedagogy.
- Studies in the area of musical development. Art for childhood as a naturalist context for research in the field.
- Studies of the social and therapeutic actions which music enables.

Teaching method
The teaching methodology will combine theory classes, designed to transmit knowledge, with practical classes. In preparation, students are required to read texts and view documentaries, as well as use group-based methods to encourage active partipation of all involved.
Evaluation method
Evaluation will be based on the submission of two written texts: 1) A document composed of a critical summary of each of the classes and 2) An annotated literature review covering a theme selected at the beginning of the semester.
