Objectives

To understand the concept of globalization; to mobilize the understanding to understand the diversity of approaches to other disciplines and its application in a political, economic, social and environmental frame; to evaluate critically different consumption behaviours; to use the diversity of perspectives to enthrone a positive, ecological and humanist globalization; to analyse indicators related to quality of life of the populations (technical competences); to find out answers to problems autonomously and transfer to new situations with the necessary adaptations, the acquired experience (methodological competences).

Subject matter

To reflect upon the origins of globalization; to analyse social, cultural, economic, ecological and spatial constraints assocaited to this phenomena; globalization and consumption; new forms of organization of the society and behaviours; positive, ecological and humanistic globalization.

Evaluation method

Each student must 1) read a set of selected texts for which content he will be evaluated in a written examination; 2) write an essay on a topic related to the program; 3) participate in a group work and present the results orally (research action).
