Objectives
a) Know the basics of environmental policies;
b) To master the concepts and principles of environmental policies and international organizations dedicated to the environment;
c) Master the tools of environmental policy at international, European and national level;
d) develop scientific and technical capacity to evaluate, at different levels, the impact of environmental policies;
e) develop and conduct environmental studies around major contemporary issues;
f) communicate the acquired knowledge to different audiences.

None.
Subject matter
1) Fundamental concepts of environmental policies. 2) The United Nations. Summits and Conferences on Environment and Development. 3) The Summit of the Rio Principles and Agenda 21. Subsequent developments. Kyoto Protocol. 4) Role of the OECD and the Council of Europe at the Environment. 5) Environmental Policies of the European Union. 6) Environmental policies in Portugal. 7) Project work.
