b) To question the issue of political modernity in Contemporary Portugal.

Subject matter

Within a logic common to many seminars Area Contemporary History Graduate / Masters in History - the approach of the
various types of facts condition the advent of modernity in contemporary Portugal - intended, as part of this seminar, study
the problem blockages and ruptures in relation to political modernity, covering the three types of regimes that followed the
fall of the monarchy in 1910. To this end, three were selected modules specific issues to be discussed at the seminar: the
political and social elites, the political and ideological regimes and institutions; conjunctures breaking / turning historically
