Objectives
It is expected that students will acquire and/or develop:
1) the ability to describe today´s main demographic trends and to interpret them as social challenges;
2) the capacity to analyse the key epidemiological aspects of aging
3) the ability to analyze the determinants of health in an ecological perspective
4) the ability to analyze the binomial health - disease
5) the ability to analyze health inequalities and the role of policies and intervention models in health

Teaching method
Individual written assesssment during sessions with mandatory oral discussion. The individual assessment corresponds to a paper to be submitted to a scientific meeting or magazine. Continuous assessment (preparation of reading sheets and oral presentations).
Evaluation method
Avaliação: trabalho final - 70%; avaliação contínua - 30%.
