Objectives

a) Explore the basic notions of economic sociology and its application to the study of migration;
b) Capacitate the students to critically analyse economic policy measures addressing migrants;
c) Capacitate the students to support increasingly diverse HR management, in public and private institutions,
d) Capacitate the students to formulate innovative and interesting proposals for the design of population monitoring devices under globalization;
e) Enable students to do research in a semi-autonomous way.

Teaching method

Some classes are based on theoretical exposés and others on practical exercises. The latter will consist in students´ presentation and discussion of their projected essay or research plan.

Evaluation method

Evaluation and weighting for the final grade: continuous evaluation of the student´s participation in classes (25%); presentation in class of the projected essay or work plan (25%); written essay or work plan (50%).
Formulas for calculating ratings:
Rating Attendance: CF=0,25xAP+0,25xTPO+0,50xTPE (rounded to the nearest unit).
Rating Appeal: CR = CR=(CF+ER)/2 (rounded to the nearest unit).
