Objectives
1. Ability to apply the relevant theories and concepts in the domain of Public Policy and Social Inequalities to the analysis and questioning of concrete empirical cases;
2. Ability to apply sociological theories and research methods to the design of a research project, a professional development or sociological intervention project in the area of Public Policy and Inequalities;
3. The ability to expose, argue and discuss critically the research project, professional development or sociological intervention project.

Subject matter
Examples of relevant topics and issues for the analysis, the sociological intervention and the professional practice of sociologists, in the domain of Public Policies and Social Inequalities (integration of knowledge acquired in the thematic seminars of the area; presentation of real situations);
Systematization of the types of work that can be developed (basic research, applied research and project of sociological intervention, professional development project in an institutional context (professional training)): scientific foundations, objectives, requirements for implementation;
Methodology of definition and project planning;
Presentation and discussion of individual projects, with a view to continuing to later for the master´s.

Lectures and conferences on examples of subjects and problems;
Presentation and discussion by students, in seminar, of their initial proposals of topics and issues to explore in research, in the intervention project or in professional training (at the beginning of the semester) and of individual projects (at the end of the semester);
Evaluation method
Monitoring the development of the student´s work for conclusion of degree
Continuous evaluation of the presentations and discussions of student projects.
