Objectives

It is intended that students acquire:
1. Understanding of the importance of professional qualification in three analysis dimensions: (a) acquisition of skills throughout life, (b) insertion in the knowledge world, (c) organizations’ flexibility;
2. Theoretical understanding of the great issues on human capital enhancement;
3. Capacity for conceiving forecast scenarios, in the world of the knowledge society, which should guide today the innovation projects;
4. Ability to infer knowledge for the Masters’ dissertation, work project or internship;
5. Ability to communicate clearly the area’s relevant knowledge.

Teaching method

Lectures on the key concepts and their theoretical framework

Evaluation method

Individual study work and presentation by each student of texts from the basic bibliography and others; group discussion.
Supervision in regime of tutoring for the preparation of a paper by each student on a relevant topic from the given lectures.
