Objectives

Students should acquire: 1. A critical sense in relation to the theoretical and analytical tools that claim to grasp the recent transformations of modernity, i.e. the properties of reflexivity and the processes of \"individuation\" / singularisation; 2. The conceptual bases that allow studying the construction of identity in late modernity, operationalizing the concepts of lifestyles and life projects; 3. The ability to identify the macro-structural features that punctuate the \"world of work\" at present; 4. The ability to study professional insertions as social trajectories and their relation to the distribution / valorization of skills; 5. The ability to problematize the criteria present in the construction of social categories, by analyzing the transitions in the life cycle and professional insertions in a specific life stage; 6. The ability to address theoretical and methodological cultural practices associated with moments of life cycles and specific lifestyles.

Teaching method

Teoretical lessons concerning the main concepts of the subjects addressed;
Practical lessons - text discussion based on the literature suggested and presentation and discussion of the work done by the students;
Tutorial monitoring of each student in the design of a research problem or a small research project on an issue relevant to the contents of the course, possibly oriented according to the issues to be addressed in the dissertation, the internship or the research project.

Evaluation method

Written essay about a relevant topic, based on independent literature research, leading eventually to a research project (50%).
Oral presentation and discussion of the written essay in class (50%).
