Objectives
a) To deepen the knowledge of description and explanation theoretical models in the field of linguistic pragmatics.
b) To develop skills to research and to interpret information autonomously, developing critical thinking skills in evaluating different theoretical proposals.
c) To develop the ability to communicate their knowledge, as well as the conclusions achieved through research and autonomous reflection, defending them in a clear and argued way.
d) To develop the ability to apply the theoretical and the empirical concepts and tools, in carrying out a work of original research in the pragmatics field.

1. Theoretical Perspectives on Pragmatics.
2. Enunciation, reference and meaning: semantic-pragmatic interdependence.
3. Relationship between the linguistic forms and semantic-pragmatic values.
4. Methodologies for collecting, processing and analyzing data in Pragmatics.

Teaching method
The topics proposed for study, reflection and discussion in the seminar sessions are scheduled at the beginning of each semester and previously prepared based on readings from recommended bibliography. In tutorial sessions, Master´s students will have regular monitoring of personal matters, as well as the work to be submitted for evaluation.
Evaluation method
Participation in the seminar sessions with presentation and discussion of the readings (30%). Presentation of an individual project, resulting from independent research, supported by diversified literature and documentary information (70%).
