The course aims to give students a wide understanding of the main theoretical developments in the disciplinary field of Political Science, as well as the ´state of the art´ of the research on some key issues.

Teaching method
Lectures given by the academic staff, and debates on specific topics based on the presentation of assigned readings by the students.
Teaching language: Portuguese (lectures) / English (tutorial meetings).
Evaluation method
Students will be evaluated on the basis of a written essay (c. 10 pages) on topics of the course syllabus, to be presented and discussed in the final classes. Active participation in the classes is taken into account for the final marks.
