This Curriculum Module provides advanced training in skills, tactics and techniques of research in Human Ecology. It provides practical training in the use of multi-method research applied to real world situations.
In addition, it will improve students´ skills with regard to literature research and document production.
It is intended that students acquire:
- Methodological knowledge and skills to design and manage in an integrated and on-going manner, a research project leading to the doctoral dissertation;
- Knowledge and understanding of the main technical options available for research in Human Ecology and the ability to combine them according to research aims.

Teaching method
Theoretical lectures and seminars where students can test their application of research methodologies.
Introduction to the themes, analysis of case studies and examples of the application of these to specific cases. Use of software.
Evaluation method
Evaluation will be based on a written research topic agreed upon with the teacher. This will be presented orally and the main findings and methodologies used will be discussed.
