Objectives
- To develop scientific research skills that allow the formal construction of a doctorate thesis in Educational Sciences in the specialty of Curriculum Theory and Development in its various scientific applications;
- To master the advanced research in Curriculum Theory and Development in the sub-specialty of choice;
- To discuss and investigate specific topics of theories of curriculum development in relation to the pedagogic practice.

1. Theory and curriculum development
a) Curriculum, curriculum development, levels of curricular decision.
b) Types of curriculum theories (technical, practical, critical)
2. Syllabi disciplines
a) Knowledge, science and school-related knowledge.
b) School culture and school syllabi
2 The curriculum of specialities: teaching Mathematics, Science, Portuguese, Foreign Languages, History and Philosophy. Particular and problematic issues.

Teaching method
Practical (40%) and theoretic (60%) classes, using technologies of information and communication, scientifc databases e library resources for social and human sciences research. Modular teaching, according to the students scientific interest.
Evaluation method
Evaluation: Presentation of a research paper within the specialty subject.
