Objectives
a) To discuss some basic concepts related with patterns of regional distribution of economic activities;
b) To discuss public policies aimed to promote regional and urban development;
c) To discuss the main concepts and theories related with externalities
d) To discuss the concept of agglomeration economies;
e) To discuss the concept of regional inequalities;
f) To apply the basic tools of input-output analysis.

Teaching method
Theoretical and practical classes. The students have several opportunities to participate in the discussions during classes.
Evaluation method
- Reading of selected references the interpretation and comprehension of these selected references will be tested on a writting exam (70%);
- Group work the students will have the opportunity to analyse different perspectives, concepts and theories on the subject of regional and urban economics (15-20pag) (30%).
