Objectives

recognize the Prehistoric Archaeology as scientific domain essential for a critical view of the history of mankind;
Know and interpret, in a synchronic and diachronic perspective, the various stages of formation of humanity in terms of its
\"biological history\" as the dynamics underlying the emergence and development of early human societies, from the
Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age, in different geographical contexts and in their various forms of cultural expression;
Assess the relative importance of an archaeological testimony identifying the elements necessary for building and
sustaining critical historiographical discourse;
To know the latest trends and updated scientific production of historiographical analysis and synthesis;
Be able to explain what they have learned and problematized it, using specific vocabulary and incorporated them into the
conceptual universe of their own discipline

Teaching method

Classes will be supported by digital means. Extensive use of images illustrating the various components of the contents of
the course. Analysis and review of texts and images, with particular attention to the different types of archaeological sites
related to the syllabus. Understanding the diversity of the historical process in the world. Active participation of students in
class through questions to the classroom.

Evaluation method

Test with consultation where we will assess the student´s ability to reflect in
relation to the knowledge transmitted, discussion and argumentation used will be valued. Research work in the form of a
critical review. The diferent models of review are transmitted to students.
