Objectives
a) To analyse critically the poetry and fiction of some 20th century authors, in order to problematize come of the guidelines of the Portuguese literature, done in the last decades.
b) To questione the concepts of Modern and Contemporary literature

None.
Subject matter
To analise critically Almada Negreiross Nome de Guerra, having in mind the context of the European fiction-essay
To analise some aspects of the poetry of the following authors: Alexandre O`Neill, Sophia de Mello Breyner and António Ramos Rosa, as representative of different portuguese litterature guidelines of the 20th century: from surrealism to classicism and neo-barroquism.

A Written exam and an optional essay; in case the student chooses to write an essay, it will be worth 50% of the final mark.
