Objectives
a) To be able to conceive audio projects, keeping in consideration all stages of it.
b)To develope technical and criative analysis competencies about diverse musical procuctions made by other professionals.
c) tp be able to understand the specific role of sound recording, editing and dissemination technologies on musical context.
d) To be able to develop audio editing projects on a creative way.
e) To know the technical terms specific to the domain and use it correctly.

Subject matter
1. Studio: Key components of the sound studio: configuration and connections of those components. Signal flow (analog and digital). Mixer (analog and digital), effects processors and monitoring. Fundamental studio workflow: recording / digitalization; mixing and mastering.
2 Sound recording: Features of microphones and selection of these according to specific purposes. Sound recording techniques.
3. Editing Technique and practice: Digital Audio Workstations: fundamental digital studio tool; Mixing techniques;
Equalization and specificity of audio signal; Dynamics: compression, gate and limiter; Effects processing; Destructive and non-destructive editing;
4. Sound studio and musical composition: Specificity of audiovisual production (TV, advertising, film); Webdesign; games, multimedia, computer animation, etc. Analog and digital synthesizers. Principles of sound synthesis and music composition. Sampling and musical creation.

Critical revision of a disc and its oral presentation (30%). A sound design project, with its oral presentation and written report (70%).
