Objectives

Provide students the theoretical and practical knowledge to enable it to
include:
a)The role of documents and archival information in oarrangement systems, regardless of their support;
b)The production process of archival documents and mechanisms under this act differentiator compared to other types production of documentation;
c)The archival principles and its evolution over time;
d)The theoretical foundations, methodologies and practices for the arrangement and appraisal of archival information in different historical contexts and in different archival traditions;
e)Policies and strategies for the acquisition of archival documents.
Critically analyze and develop tools for the arrangement and appraisal in order to equip the student with theoretical and practical tools to enable it to plan, analyze, design and control systems acquisition and arrangement of archival information.

1.Fundamentals
The purpose of archival
From the primary functions (evidence and inform) to the values (evidential value and informational value).
The principles of archives and their evolution over time.
2.Records production
3.The arrangement of documents and archival information:
Concept
Classification system and milestones in its evolution.
Analysis and development of classification instruments.
Socio-political models and records arrangement.
4.The appraisal of documents and archival information:
Concept.
Policies and systems.
Analysis and development of appraisal tools.
5.The acquisition of archival documents:
Policies and strategies.
Instruments.
