Objectives
To understand the place of constitutional monarchy and republican regimes in Portuguese Contemporary History, in view of the construction of modernity;
To be able to question that place from various perspectives (political, economic, social and cultural);
To be able to identify obstacles to modernization;
To develop the knowledge on the sources and literature available on the period studied;
To develop analytical and critical reflection skills;
To develop the ability to carry out an original research in the field of contemporary history and to expose it both orally and in writing.
