Objectives
a) To acquire an overview of topics of study and different methodological approaches within the Education and Psychology of Music fields.
b) To deepen topics of study and methodological tools that have been used in the study of human interaction, musical development in infancy and voice studies.
c) To develop research skills needed for collecting and selecting information.
d) To apply critical analysis skills to scientifically refereed publications and to other contributions from the specialty.
e) To acquire knowledge aiming to write a review literature article.
f) To acquire observation skills and tools required for its systematization and analysis.
Prerequisites
None.
Subject matter
A) Psychology of Music and Music Pedagogy: identification of study themes and research questions.
B) Observation methods for the study of human interaction and musical development in infancy and childhood. Application to the specific case of arts for infancy.
C) Voice studies: from infancy to high level of performance. Body, voice and movement: studies of different perspectives on using spoken voice and singing voice.
D) Sources of research and advisements for a literature review in the topics of human interaction, musical development in infancy/ childhood and voice studies. Guidance for writing a literature review article on a subject within this thematic framework.

Classes aiming to train observation skills in the domain of human interaction and musical development.
Discussions aiming to support students on the draft of a literature review article in the domain of musical development or in the domain of voice studies.
Evaluation method
1.Participação in class (10%)
2. Production of a minimum of five reading sheets (each with a maximum of 4000 characters) under the theme of human interaction, musical development in infancy or voice studies (30%)
3. Oral presentation mentioned in 2 and related discussion. (10%)
4. Literature review article in one of the aforementioned themes (50%)
This document will be evaluated according to the following parameters: initiative to find research sources; rigor in the description of the consulted sources; synthesis capacity; critical capacity; quality of writing; ability to establish relationships between the various contributions read; personal and original perspective.
