Education objectives
The objectives of the Doctorate in Civil Engineering:
- To train high level technicians in the field of Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply, through scientific methods, the knowledge acquired, displaying an updated general training in different areas and a particularly robust in the specialty training in carrying out his PhD;
- Forming Civil Engineering professionals with critical thinking and ability to understand problems, formulate them, resolve them and continue to learn (training) with autonomy. To this end, a targeted training to understand the issues, attitudes and reasoning to apply in its resolution is key;
- Check ability to design, deploy, adapt and carry out research respecting high standards of academic quality and integrity;
- Promote the development of original and innovative research in various specialties of civil engineering that contribute to the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge dissemination and deserve international publications with the selection committee;
- Provide students with the skills of PhD oral and written expression, sometimes in foreign languages, enabling them to communicate accurately, clearly and unambiguously its conclusions and the reasoning underlying them, both specialists and non-specialists.
