Education objectives
This master aims to train engineers capable of designing, planning, design, manage and implement solutions, taking water as the subject of work. The Master of Engineering and Water Management must be able to address the problems of water resources in an integrated manner considering its multiple aspects, including ecological, social, economic and technological developments in order to contribute to a balanced and sustained development. In the exercise of their profession, the Master of Engineering and Water Management must be able to:
* Understand the physical processes chemical, biological and socio-economic problems underlying the field of movement and water management, and specifically in the areas of hydraulics, hydrology and water resources.
* Dealing with complexity, uncertainty and the interdisciplinary nature of the problems of water management, recognizing its technical aspects, ecological, economic and social development.
* Select and use the methodologies and techniques to analyze problems in the field of water, including the monitoring of resources, experimental work and field data analysis, statistics, mathematical modeling and systems analysis.
* Inventory, characterize and formulate the diagnosis of problems that relate to the protection, recovery, planning and management of water resources.
* Developing and designing policies, strategies, measures and solutions to the problems identified and analyzed the consequences of proposed solutions.
* Develop, measure and manage projects on water infrastructure and water potentials.
* Develop research, independently, in the scientific areas of hydraulics, hydrology and water resources.
Careers
* The Master of Engineering and Water Management provides technical and scientific training appropriate to the successful performance in the following organizations:
* Business Consulting, Project and Audit;
* Service Companies and, in particular, Enterprise Management Services Water;
* Industry;
* General Government, including Ministry of Environment Spatial Planning of Regional Development, Ministry of Works Transport and Communications, Ministry of Agriculture Rural Development and Fisheries and Ministry of Economy and Innovation;

Evaluation rules
The following modes of assessment for the curriculum componentare may be used:
- Evaluation based only on an examination or completion of a final project.
- Distributed evaluation without final exam or paper. In subjects with this method of assessment, there will be throughout the academic year, for example, laboratory work, mini-tests, tests, individual or group seminars, to be awarded classification with which to construct the final classification.
- Distributed evaluation with compulsory examination or final paper. In subjects with this kind of assessment will be an evaluation component similar to the preceding point and an evaluation component with the final exam.
- Distributed evaluation with the possibility of exemption from examination or final paper.
The Dissertation seminar includes a public presentation, before a Jury, in accordance with legal statutes.
