Objectives
At the end of this curricular unit, the student will have acquired knowledge, skills and competences that will allow him/her, as general competences to:
a) Demonstrate a systematic ability to understand issues and problems of educational research;
b) Show critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new ideas;
c) Communicate with its peers about issues and problems of education and training with clear ideas and arguments.
And as specific competencies, to:
a) know and use computer tools on the development of educational products;
b) analyse and propose evaluation methodologies of educational content and products with technological basis;
c) analyse recent literature on educational computer and networks environments;
d) write synthesis on educational technology themes and moderate debates on those themes;
e) know various uses of technology in education with a particular interest on the Portuguese examples.
f) individually explore computer and network systems in order to acquire a personal and concrete perspective and experience on those environments.
Prerequisites
General knowledge of computer use as a end user
A portable laptop computer is not mandatory but recommended

B. Networked computers and their educational value
1. Local and wide networks. The Internet;
2. Tools for educational communication on the web;
C. On-line Learning management Systems (LMS);
1. Choosing criteria among the main contestants;
