Objectives
The aim is to provide students with knowledge on the SC (single Carrier) and MC (multi-carrier) modulations with Frequency Domain Equalization. This also includes the characterization of the transmitters and receivers suitable for high-rate wireless systems in presence of severely frequency selective channels. It is intended that the students become familiarized with the key aspects related with block transmission systems with frequency domain equalization as well as the characteristics of the iterative receivers. To achieve these goals the students must understand the effects of multipath and other error sources in the system performance and the techniques adopted to compensate them.
Finally systems based on SC and MC with frequency domain equalization, such as DVB, WIMAX or LTE, are studied.
The laboratorial component will provide students with a direct contact with simulation software that execute the subjects studied in the theoretical part.
