Objectives
Objectives of this course:
- From a real biotechnology consolidate knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, studying a go to market strategy for it.
- To expose master students to biotechnologies that are being developed in the university lab and how they can relate with enterprises.
- Develop writing skills and writing techniques of a Case-Study.
- Develop skills and oral presentation.
- Develop leadership and management skills as well as teamwork.

Introduction and historical overview of Entrepreneurship in Biotecnologia.Relevância teaching Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology. Case studies of success.
Study "Business case studies" (eg Harvard Business School)
Find and evaluate technologies / opportunities in the area of Biotecnologia.T
Mounting a "business case study" over a biotechnology company based on available information and collected through interviews. Identification and study of technology and main products. Identification of main competitors. Advantages and disadvantages of the product or service offered by the company chosen and the major competitors (Performance Map). Strategies and marketing company. Preparation of the business model canvas. Identification of challenge and proposals for resolution.

Class presentation and discussion of themes, student presentations on the work and tutorials.

The evaluation of the Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship will be held throughout the semester, a total of 4 presentations per group 10min/cada. Each group will deliver on the 22nd May 2014, TWO copies of a written document (Case study of your company). All material will be provided in English. All material submitted by students will also be in English.
The presentations will have a 50% weight (10% for presentations 1, 2 and 3 and 20% for presentation 4) and Case Study (written) will have a weight of 50% (30% written document + 20% discussion).
Rules for writing (Case study) - should be drawn up in English with a maximum of 12 pages (Arial IGNORE 12, spacing 1.5), including annexes and the cover page.
