Objectives
It is intended that students have a vision and an integrated practice of
various laboratorial methods used in the research area of biochemistry.
Subject matter
This course follows Biomolecular Techniques I, where the students have acquired a knowledge of the different techniques used in Biochemistry .
In this course , students will be faced with a project delivered by professor. During the semester, students will have to plan and execute the experimental work to carry out to achieve the project objectives .
At the end of the experimental work the students have to write an experimental protocol and do a public apresentation.
The protocol apresented refers to an executable experimental work in 1-2 sessions (4-8 hours) for final year students of Biochemistry degree.
Evaluation method
The unit of Biomolecular Techniques II is set in CLIP ,
as a curricular unit Seminar. This means that the FCT
Assessment Regulation is not applied .
There is no Board of Examination .
There is no possibility of improvement .
There is no Special Season examination.
The evaluation method is as follows:
At the beginning of the semester will be
distributed among different groups of
2 - 3 students, specific projects .
The groups will have to begin by drawing
up a plan of the practical work .
After approval of this plan, the group
using the various available experimental
techniques , will perform their experimental work.
There will be a tutorial system to monitor
the experimental implementation of the project .
The evaluation will be continuous and at
the end students will have to do an oral
presentation of the results.
