Objectives
The aim of this unit is the discussion of several topics related to the PhD programme and to organise working groups according to individual research interests.
Is aimed to acquire critical analysis competences and the synthesis of new and complex ideas. It aims also the development of forms of oral and written forms of communication in the context of scientific themes.

Teaching method
The teaching methods will be diversified and will include, among others:
- presentation of view points
- discussion and critical analysis of texts and scientific problematics
- research and systematisation pf scientific information
(will be taught in English if there are non-Portuguese spoken students)
Evaluation method
The students assessment is continuous and will be based on:
- participation in the activities of sessions that require their presence
- presentation and discussion of scientific problematics
- writing and presentation of reports
