Objectives
The objectives of the course include:
- Ability to follow a scientific seminar on advanced topics of Numerical Analysis and Differential Equations
- Ability to prepare a topic for oral presentation
- Ability to present a scientific topic to an audience of experts
Prerequisites
The student should have knowledge of Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Differential Equations corresponding to degree level.
Subject matter
In this course, students will work on different issues chosen with professor to prepare for presentation in two seminars.
Bibliography
The bibliography will be chosen in accordance to the themes set for each seminar.
Teaching method
The main effort will be in autonomy, with the possibility of tutorials.
Evaluation method
Evaluation will be done by presenting two seminars on topics chosen. The themes fall on contents of Master courses chosen.
The evaluation consists in assigning a rating 0-10 values (for each of the seminars), based on two elements:
1. Oral communication of the topic studied (date and time to be determined by teacher-regent). Oral communication will have a maximum duration of 40 minutes followed by discussion.
2. Support document for tht presentation, which must not exceed 15 pages. This document should contain the key results of the studied subjects and a list of the main references used.
The final score is the sum of the two grades.
It is mandatory assistance to seminars line Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis of the Center for Mathematics and its Applications (CMA).
