Objectives

In the end the student will be able to understand the main concepts on:
- Energy sustainability;
- The energy problem in technical, environmental and economic frameworks;
- The contributions from control and decision theory on the implementation and optimization of energy systems (production, transport and use);
- The structure for energy production centrals, both conventional and emerging technologies;
- Energy transport and storing solutions, minimizing energy losses;
- Main power sinks and related problems; energy auditing;
additional and non technical skills:
- Orality; 
- Oral presentation with multimedia support;
- Synthetic presentation of a subject;
- Reporting an analysis;
- Teamwork;
- Ability for critical thought and attitude;
- Ability for research and authonomy;
- Creativity and imagination;

Prerequisites

Strong knowledge on algebra and math; basic physics (electromagnetism, machanics and thermodynamics); control theory
