Objectives
Macroeconomic questions are dealt with on a daily basis in the media in various ways: e.g. poverty in Africa, the growth of nations, youth unemployment, because prices increase or because of the limitations of the single currency. The ultimate objective of this course is for students to be able to read what is commonly written regarding these topics in a more informed manner. Accordingly, all assessment tests will include questions involving the analysis of commentaries and the discussion of the truth of statements. The course will also seek to develop some general quantitative skills such as the manipulation of growth rates.

Teaching method
The two weekly lectures are theoretical, which is no obstacle to student’s participation. The weekly practical class will involve problem solving and discussion of small cases.
