Objectives
The discipline aims at providing the student with a specialized knowledge in the field pertaining to the relations between Law and Sports. In such a way, the student shall be able to develop skills in the more general field of the normative reality which envelops that social phenomenon, recognizing within that twofold sphere a space of legal plurality in society, in which public and private aspects live shoulder to shoulder. On the other hand, the student shall be readied to become proficient in some of the most important sportive structures – sports organizations such as sports federations, the professional leagues, the sports clubs or the sports societies – as regards their legal contour. In like manner, owing to the transversal nature of the sport itself, the course determines the need to come into contact with the most diversified branches of Law, therefore presenting itself as a space of unceasing legal completion

Teaching method
Classes shall commence with an approach to the normative facts in question, seeking to stimulate a debate on some issues which cause more controversy. Apart from that, following a more theoretical part, debate topics shall be chosen – based upon practical cases – which shall oppose two groups of students, after which all persons present shall be able to take part in such a debate. We can, therefore, safely assert, even by force of the vitality of the sports phenomenon, that the discipline includes a vast space for the debate of the contemporary legal- -sports reality.
Evaluation method
Written examination.
