The Ph.D. in Management has a flexible coursework requirement and a distinct apprenticeship-like style, where students work closely under a supervisor?s guidance. The basic structure is as follows: Guided study (reading lists) and possible coursework. Students begin a publishable research project under supervisor?s guidance. The comprehensive exam on the methods, and general knowledge of area and specific research. Doctoral thesis (maximum 3 years to complete) Doctoral candidates must present their research work in at least 3 international conferences or seminars Doctoral students are required to spend at least one semester abroad, either taking elective courses or working with researchers in order to prepare their dissertation. Nova SBE has exchange agreements with 11 European universities and was one of the founders of the educational consortium that gathers 7 leading European institutions, joined to offer a three-year research-oriented program and aims to produce top-quality researchers, who will gain international experience working within the research units with some of Europe´s leading researchers in economics. - EDEEM (European Doctorate in Economics (E.M.) - QeD (The Quantitative Economics Doctorate (E.M.)
